Into the New Year we go and Graham and I would like to wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

JANUARY 2009
Cant believe January has gone already and its time for me to write another blog. Firstly I need to thank our regular visiting divers for supporting us through what looks like approaching leaner times although the tourist board is trying to convince us that British tourism is still increasing ! Its true to say that the Scand avian, Dutch and German diver market is still pretty solid here, lets hope it continues into the year ahead. Snow on Teide YES and lots of it, a very picture postcard view, thank goodness the sun still shines down here on the coastline allowing us to enjoy some good temperatures.
The Canarian Institute of Marine Sciences have contacted all local dive centers to help in a project investigating the impact of Gilt Head Sea Bream and European Sea Bass - some have decided they would rather escape and check out the surrounding seas ! They are asking divers to report any sightings to them, there is a real concern that they may be damaging the marine ecosystem around our shores. We will be showing pictures to our divers if you sight one of these fish please e mail the institute on dtavares@iccm.rcanaria.es with details. thanks...............
